Where are we: Rogan is currently travelling around South East Asia.

Doing what: While Rogan specializes in architectural photography, he also looks forward to working on editorial and event and portrait assignments. In between, Rogan is invariably working on several personal and self-assigned feature and social documentary projects.

Why: To pay the rent and to make good, Rogan works on assignment and commissions across the Asia-Pacific region for architects and property developers as well as corporate, design and editorial clients – producing images that illustrate the point and tell the story. Yes, we do good things – not only for you the client but for the community as well. Rogan’s personal work usually finds its way into exhibitions and book publishing projects.

How: Rogan now fully embraces a digital workflow – from digital capture through to image prep and delivery. Rogan uses top of the range Canon DSLR cameras and prime lenses for most of his work. However, Rogan has wealth of photography experience that comes out of the era of film and big studio photography. Should the client have the means, it is not be beyond Rogan to deploy hi-end digital equipment to complete an assignment.

THE PERSON – Rogan’s interest in architecture and photography started at school. His interest in architecture was further consolidated with a year’s internship as a draftsman with a prominent firm of local architects.

Rogan garnered his early commercial photography experience while working for interests in South Africa’s mining industry (open-cast, underground, infrastructure and services), the local construction industry (infrastructure projects and property development) and while on assignment for many of the country’s major corporations.

Rogan’s newspaper and press experience includes working on two daily newspapers and stringing for an international picture agency while he was in South Africa. In the UK, he worked for a news agency, was a stringer for a wire service and assisted in running a picture library.

After an intense 10 years working in South Africa, Rogan moved to the UK where he picked up on corporate and editorial assignments. In 1994 Rogan moved to Hong Kong to work on contract for a prominent toy company at the time. In 2006 Rogan travels to Canada and the UK. In 2008 Rogan returns to Hong Kong.

Rogan has extensive IT, digital imaging and web based services experience – capabilities that are put to good use on each and every assignment and project.

THE SITE – Aside from profiling Rogan’s photography, the purpose of this site is to reflect on some of stories behind some of Rogan’s work, his thoughts and thinking, to reflect his views and a platform to discuss his work and topics related to his work. The site will also present the opportunity to communicate and interact directly with Rogan. This site is something of a work in progress. Aside from adding new content, changes are likely to be frequent.
