- GENERAL DIGITAL IMAGING SERVICES:
- For the services rendered, there are several definable steps: DIGITAL CAPTURE, DATA CONVERSION, IMAGE PREPARATION and DELIVERY. Each of the steps has costs and expenses associated with it and these are all factored into the services provided and costs thereof.
- PLEASE NOTE: Most of my photography is now done using a digital image capture device – typically a high-end DSLR camera or, if the CLIENT as the resources, a hi-res digital back and associated cameras (as in “hired items”)
- On most occasions, digital images are captured in the RAW state and in the Adobe-RGB colour space. Thereafter, digital images are converted into JPG or TIF images – this depending on the selected service or the Client’s requirements.
- Digital Capture refers to the capturing or taking of the image via the camera and on to digital media.
- Data Conversion refers to converting the RAW image data into working JPEG or TIFF files.
- Basic image retouching and correction – on conversion from RAW to the desired image format, the photographer elects to colour correct and to perform spotting, dusting and some basic retouching as and when required. PLEASE NOTE: There is a distinction between the sort image adjustment mentioned here and image retouching.
- Master File Image Prep(aration) – this service involves converting the RAW image to a 16-bit TIFF and reworking the image to a standard where the image can be used for its intended purpose.
- While we do “digital editing and retouching”, WE DO NOT DO OR UNDERTAKE TO PROVIDE FINISHED ART WORK.
- Delivery: All digital and digitised images are either delivered via the Internet or burnt on to DVD-ROM which is then delivered to Client.
